Merry Christmas

Class E participated in a secret santa. I was lucky enough to get Hannah's name!
Here's her secret santa gift!
She wanted "korean boy band" or "pug".
I can't draw dogs so i painted JYJ. :)
Jaejoong looks weird for some reason. :(

1/8

first semester done and over with. Time to work even harder.

Goals for Break:
Daily Painting Studies
Life Drawing Studies
Have three days of my life consumed by Monster Hunter Freedom 3
Spend time with friends, family, and be happy.

anyways, this is a random painting of a some creature siphoning a flower and turning it into smoke!

Still Life

Here's the still life painting assignment. Maureen pointed out that my composition of the objects were essentially three vertical rectangles; I couldn't agree more.

Lesson learned: Composition before Commitment

BTW....I now strongly dislike, rather than hate gouache.

Bones + Puns

I lost the files for some of my skulls, pelvises, and arm+leg bones :(
Here's an upload of what I was able to find.

The night before the bones were due, Class E (more specifically me, Jiani and Alicia), went all out with our bone vocabulary to make some puns...these puns were so great, that I have decided to compile and upload them with the world.

Thanks for letting us destroy your wall Aki.

Layouts

Not digging the composition and scale in either one.

From now on I'll consider and try to catch those flaws before I commit to them.

Face Study 2

2-3 hour study of my friend Novia.

Textures

CGPARTY

This week's speed paint topic was: Ectoplasmic Lemur Assassin...

1hr

Next week's CGParty topic will definitely be more thought out and related to painting environments or humans, or something involving lots of designing.

Always

Oh love...

Layout Assignment #2

What is this I don't even.

This started off as a random doodle in photoshop in A151.

It's far from complete, but I don't want to work on it anymore, it would be best if I invested my time into another piece.

I just moved paint around until I got an idea.

The monster didn't come in until halfway through the painting.

Overall, I'm quite unhappy with the results seeing how it took me a week to finish with random sessions.

There are many problems with this piece especially anatomically and compositional. I am in serious need a life drawing tutor.

Working on this taught me quite a bit though...

Lessons learned = Plan stuff out before painting (context and especially poses), context, contrast and lasso tool.

Also, I need to do a hair and cloth study.

lalalalala

I was talking to Diane about perms and noticed that almost all the korean girls in 1st year have permed hair which lead me to paint this!

btw, roses have thorns.

peer pressure

Some intense peer pressure to update my blog.

Nothing exciting this post, just my really crappy painting that almost failed and some hands and feet.

Gonna upload some CGs soon.
*according to Allison, my rocks look pretty phallic, which is prob why I did bad on that assignment. qq

BTW, lol idc, srsly.

Work is done! School is Starting...

During the summer I worked as an Instructor for Computer Camp 4 Kids.
It was great experience and I got to work with a fantastic group of people and was able to spread awesomeness to enthusiastic kids (for the most part).

I didn't really get to do as much sketching as I wanted to this summer; but I plan on filling as much of my sketchbook as I can before school starts (2 WEEKS HOLYSHIIII).

Now that I think of it, it's really amazing that I'm going to be attending Sheridan's Animation program. I initially heard about it in gr 10, figured it'd be something I was interested in, researched in gr 11, worked hard in gr 12 and here I am. I wouldn't be in this position if it were not for Andrew Lau, Calvin Chan and Lee Tao. Thanks again guys. : D

High School is almost over, thank goodness.
Sheridan here I come. : )

Some CGs i did in the past month. Should probably draw more studies though.
Personal Artwork takes too much time.
